Description

United Way of Racine County is committed to improving the health, education, financial stability and access to basic needs of every person in our community. Our volunteer-driven community investment process is designed to fund programs that are clearly aligned with United Way’s target outcomes in the area of health, education, financial stability and basic needs.

Our Volunteer Advisory Teams (VATs) lead the process by evaluating program proposals, making funding recommendations and reviewing data to monitor program outcomes.

Become a volunteer advisory team member

We are looking for volunteers to participate on United Way's volunteer advisory teams. Our volunteer advisory teams include: the health team, the education team, the financial stability team, and the essential services team. VAT team members are a critical part of the competitive grant process that funds programs that support United Way’s focus areas of health, education, financial stability and essential services.

  • VAT volunteers must live or work in Racine County and be available to attend virtual meetings during the January to May funding cycle, with occasional meetings and commitments between June and December.
  • Meetings typically begin at 4 p.m. The total time commitment for each year is approximately 30 hours, and volunteers are asked to make a minimum commitment of two years.
