United Way of Racine County is committed to advancing the United Way's Community Impact Agenda and help our community thrive. Our volunteer-driven community investment process is designed to fund programs that are clearly aligned with United Way’s target outcomes that promote healthy communities, expand pathways to opportunity for children and youth and strengthen families and communities through financial stability.
Our Volunteer Advisory Teams (VATs) lead the process by evaluating program proposals, making funding recommendations and reviewing data to monitor program outcomes.
Become a volunteer advisory team member
We are looking for volunteers to participate on United Way's volunteer advisory teams. Our volunteer advisory teams include: the healthy community, youth opportunities and the financial security team. VAT team members are a critical part of the competitive grant process that funds programs that support United Way’s focus areas of healthy community, youth opportunities and financial security.
- VAT volunteers must live or work in Racine County and be available to attend virtual meetings during the January to May funding cycle, with occasional meetings and commitments between June and December.
- Meetings typically begin at 4 p.m. The total time commitment for each year is approximately 30 hours, and volunteers are asked to make a minimum commitment of two years.
