Choose one individual who volunteers in Racine County to be recognized at our 2024 Volunteer Recognition Luncheon. Please answer all questions to the best of your knowledge. We use the impact questions to select the winners.  Please retrieve actual statistics from nominee or from their volunteer organization.

Forms will be due by February 1, 2024.

FAQ:
  • 1 individual Per Form (couples will NOT be counted as such). Groups also do not count unless it is the nomination that includes a business/organization.
 
  • Answer all questions to the best of your knowledge - Contact nominee's volunteer organization for statistics if you do not have them.  
 
  • Entries cannot be changed after submitted. 
 
  • This is NOT a popularity contest, we do our best to use statistics and anecdotal responses to find the best examples of volunteerism per category. 
 
  • Duplicate entries will not mean more likelihood of a winner.
 
  • Volunteer does NOT have to live within Racine County, but they MUST volunteer in Racine County. 
 
  • Previous winners from the past 2 years are not qualified to win again. 
 
  • Volunteer Center reserves the right to make a final determination on the winners if necessary.

All categories are individual only except for Advocate/Partner category, which may be a business/organization/individual who partners with volunteers or provides space to complete volunteer work. This category also does not have to include a person/business who is volunteer-based.
Other examples:
Community Empowerment -Deontrae Mayfield won in 2022 for his volunteer work in the community to help foster growth and development of Racine through volunteerism (coat drives, reading clubs, hosting events for others, etc)
Volunteer leader - This is a new category, but it is someone who provides leadership in the volunteerism world such as a Sarah Webb who leads the Youth Volunteer Corps.  
 
Arts & Culture: Demonstrates excellence in the area of arts and culture through volunteerism.
 
Community Empowerment: Fostering positive, inclusive community development through volunteerism. Individual only.
 
Environment: Betters our community by sustaining/improving our natural surroundings.
 
Health/Human Services: Helps the community by volunteering in health/medical services arena.
 
Heroic: Veteran volunteer or courageous volunteer acting in the midst of time of need or disaster.
 
Senior: Outstanding service to the community provided by a person over the age of 55.
 
Partner/Advocate: Provides space for volunteer opportunities or partners with volunteer organizations to help support their mission. Individual or Organization/Business. Note: does not need to be a volunteer organization, just a partner.
 
Volunteer Leader: Directly supervise volunteer opportunities, while exemplifying leadership qualities.
 
Youth: Selfless giving of time in service to the community by a person under the age of 19.
