Sixth Street Theater - Over Our Head Players

The Sixth Street Theater, home of the Over Our Head Players is a non profit community theater in it's 16th year of providing live theater in downtown Racine. We run completely with volunteer participation. Every performance offer a multitude of volunteer opportunities, for first timers and veterans alike. Volunteers come from all walks of life. Our volunteers include College Students, Mothers, Teachers, Tavern Owners, Fathers, Moving Men, Retirees, Sons, HR Managers, Authors, Aviation Support Personnel, High School Students, Security Directors, Brothers, Animation Artists, Graduate Students, Mortgage Consultants, Sisters, Funeral Home Directors, Vietnam Veterans and College Professors. As you can see we'll take anyone.

Running a production requires both on stage and behind the stage volunteers, we have something for everyone. Being part of a production team is very rewarding and although we work hard we never forget to have fun. Our first performances were at Georges Bar in 1992,we performed two shows per year. In 1998 we rented our own space at 318 Sixth Street and remain there today about to start our 26th season of performances.
