Who We Are

What We Do

As a volunteer, you play an important role in helping AARP realize a vision and a mission that truly embody the spirit of service. AARP's Mission: AARP is dedicated to enhancing quality of life for all as we age. We lead positive social change and deliver value to members through information, advocacy and service. AARP's Vision: A society in which everyone ages with dignity and purpose, and in which AARP helps people fulfill their goals and dreams. AARP state offices are staffed with a Senior State Director and other employees who work in partnership with volunteers, who serve in roles such as Sate President. Volunteers also serve on state Executive Councils, in AARP chapters, and in units of NRTA: AARP's Educator Community. This field structure is designed to create a dynamic community presence and respond to the needs and interests of AARP members at the local level.
