If you have a passion for preservation, or if you live in a lovely old house, or work in a vintage office, store or industrial building, if you love Racine and want to see its beauty survive – you need to join us.
We are volunteers who have come together as a nonprofit organization established in 1973 in response to the destruction of two historic mansions (above) on South Main Street to identify and actively encourage the preservation of buildings, sites, and districts in the Racine, Wisconsin area which have historical, architectural, and cultural value.
How we Help
We provide educational materials, programs, and slide shows to schools and civic organizations. We make annual donations to the Racine Public Library and to the Archives of the Racine County Historical Society and Museum. One of our goals is to provide services to the community. We assisted in establishing legislation for the creation of the Racine Landmarks Preservation Commission and the relationship between our two organizations remains close.
