Join Salmon Unlimited, Root Pike WIN, Youth Volunteer Corps, and Scout Troops 129b and 129g for the 2024 spring Root River cleanup! Look for the Salmon Unlimited - Wisconsin trailer at the Root River Steelhead Facility located in Lincoln Park in Racine, WI. Start time is 8am with beverages, bags, and group break-outs. Lunch for volunteers will be served around noon upon the completion of the cleanup effort. Cleanup efforts will target from the dam spillway to the end of Washington Park with groups split to cover the full area.
Please consider the season and wear jeans with waterproof boots or trail shoes. We will have extra sets of gloves and some picker-tools for volunteers, but we highly recommend you bring your own favorite gloves, if you have a set.
Salmon Unlimited - Wisconsin's general membership meetings are hosted on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at the 5th Street Yacht Club in Racine. Each meeting provides an update on club operations, Salmon-A-Rama planning, and 1-2 special guest speakers (topic varies by month).
We welcome non-members to join us for a meeting to get a feel for what our organization does for the fisheries & its users, public outreach and goodwill, as well as the opportunity to network and learn! Please consider joining us at an upcoming meeting! Registered members also can view the meeting via Zoom broadcasts.
