What We Do
RADD's mission is to provide a spectrum of accessible recreational & social activities that meet the needs and promote the dignity and well being of persons with developmental disabilities in Racine County, while providing respite opportunities for their family. The Cerebral Palsy of Racine County, Inc. was founded in 1954 by a group of concerned civic leaders and parents, for the purpose of addressing the needs of persons with Cerebral Palsy. Initially, an orthopedic clinic was the only service that was offered by the agency. Over the years, as other medical services became available, the focus of the agency shifted to social and recreational programs that would facilitate fuller participation in the community through leisure/ recreational activities. With this shift, came the expansion to include individuals with all developmental disabilities. In 2004, the agency adopted the nickname RADD (Recreational Activities for the Developmentally Disabled) to be more reflective of the clientele that we serve. Today, the agency has grown to include over 350 participants.
