Who We Are

Mission:

Our mission is to provide an array of literacy services that allow Racine County residents to attain their full potential and to be engaged citizens.

Vision:

Every person in Racine County has the literacy skills and confidence to live the life they dream.

What We Do

The Racine Literacy Council provides classes and one-on-one tutoring to teach the skills adults need to navigate through life with confidence. This includes teaching English, Adult Basic Education (preparing people to be better readers and writers, as well as helping them prepare for a high school equivalency diploma), Family Literacy, Citizenship, Written Driver's Test Preparation and Workplace Literacy.

The RLC also works with area employers who want to offer more support to their workforce by providing on-site Spanish and English classes that are tailored to their workplace needs.

Our staff leads volunteers in our programs who then work as one=on-one tutors and classroom or small group teachers with our students.
