What We Do

Charity Crafts is a community service group at Racine Correctional Institution in Sturtevant, Wisconsin. Charity Crafts group includes over 50 inmates working on craft projects under the supervision of Recreation Leader Jeff Nicolai, and Corrections Project Supervisor Sara Bellis. These crafted items include scarves, hats, stuffed animals, crocheted Afghans and other items, which are then donated to community organizations including Toys for Tots, homeless shelters, nursing homes, and police and fire departments. The donations of yard, fabric, patterns, painting supplies, craft items, and gift cards from the community and RCI staff have made these projects and donations possible. Charity Crafts is in need of donated supplies to allow them to continue working on these projects and donating the finished projects back to the community. If you have any questions, please contact Recreation Leader Jeff Nicolai at RCI Phone: (262) 886-3214 ext. 1130 or 1245
