At any point, there will be an issue to push in some direction or another. After getting legislator support, then pass around a petition to urge said member and other legislators to support this bill.

During times that we are not pushing for legislation, we will continue to work on the same issues with Law Enforcement officers, attornies, judges, and other community officials, including school administrators to educate them on the burdens survivors of abuse endure for a life time, and to ensure that those who abuse our children get stiffer punishment than a slap on the wrist. Often, these same people will need to also learn about the signs and symptoms of abuse.

We need one person to be a board member and others to fill out the team for a small committee. Those who work with children as teachers, caregivers, tutors, etc encouraged to come serve with us. SMP volunteers are concerned citizens (often retired professionals) who empower seniors to prevent healthcare fraud through outreach and education. SMP volunteers make presentations to groups and/or distribute materials at community events to educate Medicare beneficiaries, caregivers, and professionals how to prevent, detect, and report healthcare fraud.

Most volunteers commit between 2-5 hours each month to the SMP program. Generally, volunteer duties fall into one of the following two categories: speaking to Medicare beneficiaries about fraud OR working an SMP table (answering questions about SMP, disseminating brochures about Medicare fraud) at a senior-related health fair. Volunteer: Kiltie Klassic Drum and Bugle Corps Show

Volunteers needed August 1, 2015. We need volunteers to sell tickets at the ticket booth,greet people coming into the show and tearing ticket stubs. We need people to pass out program books and tickets for a chance to win prizes. We need people in the stands to make sure people are not walking in front of people while a drum corps is performing. Need to be able to stand and manuver in the stands with out difficulty. Some volunteers will be able to sit in the stands. No trainning required. The show is Saturday, August 3rd at Horlick Field. Please show up at 5:30 pm at the ticket gate. All volunteers will be able to watch the show for free.There is also an after party.

Volunteer: Block captain in the City of Racine

City of Racine residents are invited to volunteer as block captains with Racine Neighborhood Watch, Inc. As block captain, you are the liaison between your neighbors on your block and our office, and a meeter and greeter of new neighbors to your block. We work with you to hold a startup meeting on your block (odd and even sides on the long side of your block, corner to corner, is a typical "block"). We give you and your neighbors basic crime prevention information including printed reference materials and window clings. If you wish, we invite the alderman and a police officer to the startup meeting. After a block captain volunteers and a startup meeting is held your block receives a Neighborhood Watch street sign. You are encouraged to continue meeting with your neighbors in ways that work best for you, such as an annual National Night Out event, and occasional informal meetings in a home or yard on the block. Residents active with block watch have seen crime problems diminish and their quality of life improve because they know how and where to report problems, and work with each other for positive attitudes and cooperation among neighbors on the block. This volunteer opportunity is limited to City of Racine residents. We provide the necessary training at the startup meeting and any additional assistance as needed.

Racine County fair is an annual event occurring usually the 3 week in July of every year. The Racine Interfaith Coalition is seeking community members with experience and skills in marketing and communications to help promote positive name recognition for our organization; enhance the visibility of the organization; define a unified public image; and communicate effectively with the various constituencies of the organization. We are currently forming a new board committee for communications and marketing to implement the annual marketing plan that resulted from our recent strategic planning process. The job description of the committee is clear, and action steps have been identified through December 2011. We anticipate that the Communications and Marketing Committee will meet monthly. We welcome volunteers with communications gifts and marketing interest, who would be eager to assist us in fulfilling our mission.
