Volunteer: Parkinson Support Group LeaderOur long-time leaders will be leaving us in December. Many of our members would have difficulty performing all of the tasks necessary to run a support group, so we are looking for a coordinator/facilitator to help us. We have members willing to help with minutes, newsletter, treats, and looking for some of the speakers or programs. What we need is someone who would act as the central communicator – keeping track of who is planning which meeting, reminding members of which tasks they’ve signed up for, running the brief (15-20 minute) business meeting which takes place before each meeting’s program, and helping us find or contact some of the speakers. We have a more detailed list of support group responsibilities which we are willing to help with, but we need someone with organizational skills to help us function well. Without a volunteer support group leader, there is a good chance that members of the Racine Parkinson Support Group will not be able to continue meeting.
