Volunteer: Hospitality Desk/Bookstore Attendant

Interested in serving others in a peaceful setting?  Please consider joining the Siena Retreat Center volunteer corps as a Hospitality Desk/Bookstore Attendant.  Welcome retreatants and visitors from all over the United States.  Before or after your shift, enjoy the tranquil Siena Retreat Center grounds.  Visitors choose Siena Retreat Center as a place of respite and peace. Volunteers are an integral part of helping us live up to our mission and are an essential part of the hospitality we offer. We need you!  Perhaps you need us too!

Hospitality Desk/Bookstore Attendants:

- greet, welcome and check-in guests for retreats and overnight stays

- provide Retreat Center tours

- staff the bookstore and operate the cash register

- answer phones and assist callers as needed

- light clerical duties

-  Some volunteers stay overnight to serve as an "after hours" contact person

¨ Work with new people and interact with guests from all over the country

- Our volunteers enjoy; meals during their shift, an annual "appreciation dinner/celebration", half-day volunteer retreat and other gatherings throughout the year.

Schedules are flexible. Training provided. A cheerful disposition, patience and attention to detail is important.  Minimum 8 hours per month required, which is two shifts per month.

Interested in serving others in a peaceful setting?  Please consider joining the Siena Retreat Center volunteer corps as a Dining Room Attendant!  You will serve nourishing meals to retreatants and meet people from all over the United States.  Before or after your dining room service, you are invited to relax and enjoy the peaceful Siena Retreat Center grounds. After service, you are welcome to enjoy the same meal you helped serve our guests.  Visitors choose Siena Retreat Center as a place of respite and peace. Volunteers are an integral part of helping us live up to our mission and are an essential part of the hospitality we offer.  We need you!  Perhaps you need us too!

Dining room attendants:

¨ Prepare Dining Room for meal

¨ Receive food from caterer and set it out for service in the buffet.

¨ Monitor the buffet during service

¨ Clean tables and serving buffet following meal

¨ Work with new people and interact with guests from all over the country

- Our volunteers enjoy; meals during their shift, an annual "appreciation celebration", half-day volunteer retreat and other gatherings throughout the year.

Schedules are flexible. Training provided. A cheerful disposition is important. We are happy to offer a try-me serve so you can see if we are a good fit for one another.
