Volunteer: Racine Dog ShowsA group of volunteers and their dogs go to different nursing homes in Racine County, to preform a one hour dog show by doing tricks. We have a good time bonding with our dogs, and enjoy teaching them new tricks. Each dog has the opportunity to show off their special talent. You will bring a lot of smiles to the residents faces. Your dog has to of passed an obedience class. (need proof) and have a (CGC) Canine good Citizen Certificate. Be dog, and people tolerant. Already knowing some basic tricks is helpful. Be willing to do one show most months. Practice one hour each Monday night at Greater Racine Kennel Club 7 pm until 8 p.m starting January 1st 2018. Volunteer: Doggie Fashion ShowAn opportunity to show off our dogs at their cutest. Creature Comforts of Racine County has Doggie Fashion Shop three to four time a year. Show are held at various local nursing homes. This is a good chance to make a lot of seniors smile. They really love these shows. Please contact Barb Hugier for details on the next show date. Dogs must be friendly. We visit with seniors after the show. Must have 3 to 4 outfits. Fashion type outfits preferred over Halloween type outfits. All shows are Sunday afternoons - Sign up in advance required.

We have people of all ages, pets of all sizes. We also have other activities that are on going. "Classroom Pet" program. One hour visits in schools. We can join in the July 4th parade in Union Grove, or the Festival of Trees parade in Racine. At Christmas, we have the 4-Legged Santa, where we do one hour mini dog shows. There is the Pedet group that does one hour dog trick shows, once a month in different nursing homes. Also "Doggie Fashion Shows." Four per year, at different nursing home locations. The elderly love kids, so age is not a problem. Under 18 must have an adult with. Volunteers must have control of their pets. All dogs require an obedience certificate from any dog school. A CGC certificate is a great bonus to make the insurance company happy. Pets should enjoy visiting with strangers.
