  • Art in the Speakeasy

Art in the Speakeasy: a 1920’s themed wine and beer tasting event of art, hors d'oeuvres, music and community all to support The Koss Family Foundation, Inc. The Koss Family Foundation is a Racine based nonprofit public charity supporting community members facing a cancer diagnosis. By providing non-medical financial support, their goal is to maintain quality of life and decrease daily stressors a cancer diagnosis creates.  Steve Koss and his family are paying it forward. When stage IV pancreatic cancer hit Steve, it didn’t only wreak havoc with the physical, but the financial as well. Nine hundred Racine County community members showered him with their generosity. Steve talks about his goal of seeing the foundation become a national organization with unbridled transparency and authentic emotion.     On Saturday March 11, travel back to the roaring 20’s as the Racine Business Center is transformed into a Speakeasy. A password will get you past the goon to participate in a wine and beer tasting. Buy artwork of regional artists during Little Art in the Speakeasy sale (only $25) and live art auction in the Gallery on 16th. Guests who come in period clothes are the bee’s knees. All proceeds will be used by the foundation for client assistance and program development.  Tickets are available at the Racine Business Center, at Uncorkt and on the foundation’s website.  Price is $40 each or two for $75.  Racine Business Center, 1405 16th Street 6:00 Doors Open   6:30 First Pour  8:30 Live Art Auction
