  • Free tax Preparation for Seniors

    Free Tax Help AARP Foundation TAX-AIDE volunteers will provide low and moderate income taxpayers, with special attention to age 60 and over, with quality assistance in filing their personal income taxes.  Trained volunteers will be available at the following sites Racine County Ø Humble Park Community Center, 2200 Blaine Avenue, Racine, 9:15 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, starting February 1 through April 12. By appointment only.  Call (262)886-9612 and specify Humble Park appointment. Only through Volunteer Center of Racine County.   Ø Caledonia-Mt. Pleasant Memorial Park Hall, 9614 Northwestern Ave. (County K), Franksville, 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Tuesdays (except the week of Feb. 21 and Apr. 4, open Wednesdays Feb. 22 and April 4) and Thursdays starting February 2 through April 6. Sturtevant Village Hall, 2801 89th Street, Sturtevant, 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Mondays starting February 6 through March 27.  Walk–ins only, no phone calls, no appointments. Love, Inc., 408 S. For informational purposes.  The Volunteer Center is not scheduling for these sites in Kenosha County. Kenosha County Kenosha Senior Citizens Center, 2717 67th St., Kenosha, Thursdays, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  By appointment only, starting February 2 and ending April 6. TruStone Financial, 6715 Green Bay Road, Kenosha, Tuesdays, 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. starting February 7 and ending April 11. Daily sign-in sheets, 25 taken in morning and 20 taken after noon.  No appointments, no phone calls. Westosha Community Center, 19200 93rd St., Bristol, Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. starting January 31 and ending April 11. By appointment only. Call (262)891-3436 for an appointment. Bring Photo IDs for taxpayer and spouse and Social Security cards for taxpayers and dependents. Bring previous year's (2015) tax return, plus all income and expense documents pertaining to Tax Year 2016 such as Social Security statement, SSI records, wages, pensions, interest, dividends, healthcare coverage, paid property tax bills, etc For Wisconsin Homestead Credit taxpayers must bring their 2016 property tax bill or Rent Certificate signed by their landlord. Maximum income from all sources must be less than $24,680 to be eligible for Homestead Credit.

  • Great Pumpkin Chuckin Festival

    This 2-day event will feature Pumpkin Chuckin Competitions, where teams will catapult pumpkins as far as the eye can see! Raymond Middle School holds the record for the Junior Division with 229 ft., Waterford High School holds the record for the Intermediate Division with 317 ft., and Trinity Lutheran holds the record for the Advanced Division with 476 ft. This 2-day event will feature Pumpkin Chuckin Competitions, where teams will catapult pumpkins as far as the eye can see! Raymond Middle School holds the record for the Junior Division with 229 ft., Waterford High School holds the record for the Intermediate Division with 317 ft., and Trinity Lutheran holds the record for the Advanced Division with 476 ft. The event also includes a KCBS Sanctioned BBQ contest. Last year over 50 teams competed to win over $7000 in cash and prizes.  More Exciting Events Taking Place at the Great Pumpkin Chuckin Fest Multiple Stage Performances by the Racine Zoo, Food, Vendors, Seasonal Beers, Free Kids Games and Activities, Carnival and Hay Rides, Pumpkin Baking Contests, Costume Contest and so much more! Fun for all ages!
