  • Root River Festival Free to attend

    A festival to Celebrate the Root River's Past, Present and Future.   There is live music, storytelling and Educational Presentations.  Canoeing - Come out and spend the day at River Bend learning about Root River. Local food and beer vendors will be selling food and refreshments.     

  • Trivia Night September 9th @ St. Richard Parish

    Trivia Night at St Richard  Parish-Vogel Hall, bring your own snack.  Table of, $10 pp. Doors open at 6:30 pm, trivia starts at 7 pm. Call the Senior Companion Program at 898-1941 to reserve your table.

  • United Way of Racine County 2016 Kickoff & Day of Caring

    Join us for our fourth annual Day of Caring! In conjunction with our annual Campaign Kickoff, all volunteers are invited to a pre-volunteer gathering that includes guest speakers, breakfast and the official kickoff to the United Way Campaign season! Individuals, friends, family and co-workers are all encouraged to sign up for the largest volunteer opportunity in Racine County. This one-day volunteer opportunity provides Racine County residents and employees with a chance to roll up their sleeves and get dirty. In addition to lending a hand to a local nonprofits, volunteers learn more about their community needs through agency tours before the work begins. Last year, we had over 300 volunteers placed at 28 different site locations.  

  • Goodwill Sale at Boston Store

      Sept. 14th - Oct. 1  The Goodwill Sale is coming and we need friendly, smiling faces to help accept donations and distribute Goodwill Sale coupons at area Boston Store locations. There are numerous shifts available throughout the 18-day event. Please consider volunteering, and invite your family and friends as well. This is a great opportunity to give back to the community or for students to fulfill service hour requirements for school and religious programs. Youth under age 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Ideally, two volunteers per shift are needed. This activity may require light physical activity such as reaching, lifting, and bending.   • Join the world's largest coastal cleanup with September Adopt-a-Beach on Saturday, September 17th!

    SEPTEMBER VOLUNTEER/TEAM LEADER INFORMATION Join the thousands of people caring for our Great lakes during the Alliance's September Adopt-a-Beach Event, part of the International Coastal Cleanup.  The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 17th from 9am-12pm.  Dates and times may vary.  Volunteers who participate in the event not only remove debris, they also record their findings.  Last year in Wisconsin, 2,450 volunteers removed 3,924 pounds of trash from 58 sites. Here are two ways you can participate:1. Volunteeer:  There are many designated locations that welcome volunteers.  Volunteers will receive instructions and supplies to participate when they arrive at the event.  To register, visit www.greatlakesadopt.org.2. Become a team leader:  Team leaders recuit and organize volunteers to carry out the event.  The Alliance will provide you with step-by-step instructions and supplies, including marketing materials, gloves, data collection cards, pencils, and trash bags.  After the event, team leaders enter their results into the online system.  Start by scheduling your event:Step 1: Log into your account at greatlakesadopt.org. (Anyone that has participated in the Adopt-a-Beach program as a team leader or volunteer has an account in the system.)  If you do not have an account, click on the "Create An Account" tab.  If you are creating a new account, don't forget to activate it from the link sent to your email.Step 2: Once you are logged in, go to "My Stuff," click on the big orange "host an event" button and search for your beach.  Kep your search simple and you will have better results.  For example, enter only the first word of the beach name or search by county only.  When scheduling your event, select "September Adopt a Beach 2016" in the campaign drop-down menu.Copy and paste the link for a short video on how to schedule an event:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQi-uyujOsARegister at greatlakesadopt.org and contact Todd Brennan at tbrennan@greatlakes.org or 414-431-1761 if you have any questions!

  • NEW Docent Training

    Join our deicated crew of docents who study RAM and Wustum's extensive collection and exhibitions in order to impart information to visitors. No art or art-history knowledge necessary, we will train and inspire you! Docents are expected to become members of RAM and to present at 20-25 tours annually. Evening orientation and training begins September 20th, 2016.
